Josh's Story

Joshua Brooks Johnson was born in Kingsville, Texas, on December 1, 1981, and touched countless lives with his unwavering kindness, faith, and generosity.  Though his life was tragically cut short on January 18, 1999, due to complications from Crohn’s Disease, Josh's spirit and values continue to inspire all who knew him.

A gifted athlete and an outstanding student, Josh was far more than his achievements. He was a devoted Christian,

a compassionate leader, and a friend who treated everyone with respect and love. Known for his radiant smile, uplifting words, and unforgettable hugs, Josh had a way of making people feel valued.

Many recall his parting words were often, "Love you!"

To honor his memory and keep his legacy alive, we created the Josh Johnson Memorial Scholarship and the Josh Johnson Athletic Scholarship. These scholarships celebrate Josh's passion for excellence, commitment to community, and generous heart by supporting students who embody his values. By donating, you are not only honoring Josh’s life but also investing in future leaders and athletes who will carry forward his legacy of faith, kindness, and determination.
